  • Lucía Leal is an Educator and Visual Artist based in San Francisco. She spent her early childhood in Sonora México, before relocated to the South Bay, California. She studied Cinema at San Francisco State University where she spent time exploring an array of film & digital photography and motion pictures in depth. Her art practice also includes Printmaking and Papel Picado. Lucía’s works center mostly real people who inspire her in her life and whose images tell a story in imaginative ways. Lucía is an activist and works for CALMA, a nonprofit organization and fundraiser platform that provides resources to labor workers, migrants, and asylum seekers. Her work is deeply inspired by her community and human rights work and has been exhibited in galleries such as SomArts, Acción Latina, and Harvard University.
